Brazilian Jiu Jitsu - Kids Classes 7-11yo

Mon, Wed 3:30pm – 4:15pm

High quality martial arts training isn’t only for adults; kids can also enjoy the benefits of Jiu Jitsu. We have programs for:
- Kids class: 7-12 years of age (6-7 years of age, with parental attendance)
- Teenagers: 13+ years of age are invited to train in the adult classes, fundamentals and advanced (depending on the student's previous experience).

These classes aim on the fundamentals with a focus on self defence, fitness principles, and bullying prevention. The kids are encouraged to ask questions and think through to solutions under the guidance of our adult members who teach the kids classes. The academy offers a safe, clean, fun, and challenging environment with a program that is built around safety, respect, and education.

Requirement for these classes:
- PPE: Gi & belt (Winter), and mouth guard.

Muay Thai & Kickboxing - Teenage (12-17yo) & Adult Fundamentals (14+)

Tues: 16:30 - 17:15 (Teen only); 18:45 - 19:40

Thurs: 16:30 - 17:15 (Teen only); 17:45 - 18:40

Fundamental classes focus on the basics from footwork, pad holding, striking, Thai clinch and fitness. We utilize a high intensity interval training method which focuses on strength and conditioning work. During the week every class will vary with an emphasis of heavy bag/pad work, drills, technique, endurance and conditioning. 

These classes are suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels. It doesn't matter if you're new to exercise and the martial arts world or you are a fitness veteran you can participate at your own pace. 

Requirements for these classes: 
- PPE: Own gloves and shin guards and mouth guard. Optional groin guard.

Muay Thai - Advanced & Fighters

Mon: 17:45 - 18:40

Wed: 18:45 - 19:40

Fri: 18:30 - 19:30

Advanced & fighters class are for those looking at training at a faster pace with a more competitive approach. Competition is optional and for those wanting to test themselves. These classes will include partner drills, sparring and ring focused movements.

Requirements for these classes: 
- PPE: 16 ounce gloves, shin guards, mouth guard and goin protection.

Boxing - General & Competition

Mon: 06:00 - 06:50

Wed: 06:00 - 06:50

Fri: 06:00 - 06:50

Boxing focuses on the basics including striking, defending, slipping, rolling, pad work, bag work and sparring.
Mondays and Wednesdays focus on pad and glove work while covering the technicalities of boxing, how to use the jab effectively, flow into your strikes and move defensively.
Our Friday sessions alternate between either fitness on the bag/pads, or a controlled sparring session to apply the weeks teachings.

These classes are suitable for all age groups and fitness levels.

Requirements for these classes:
- PPE: 16 ounce gloves & mouthguard.

Fundamental Classes are designed to give our students a complete understanding of the BJJ system, allowing them to both compete in the sport of Jiu Jitsu, and develop the ability to defend themselves. Through detailed teaching and partner drills you will be introduced to the basic positions of BJJ, learn how to keep yourself safe, escape to dominant positions, and finally control and restrain your opponent. Classes will end with 'rolling' where students have the opportunity to practice their techniques in a live, realistic situation.  

These classes are suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels. It doesn't matter if you're new to exercise and the martial arts world, or you are a fitness veteran, you can participate at your own pace.

Requirement for these classes:
- PPE: Gi & belt (Winter), rashguard and shorts (Summer), plus mouth guard.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu - General (Gi & No-Gi)

Tues: 17:45 - 18:40

Thurs: 18:45 - 19:40

General Classes are for those who have been bitten by the BJJ bug and are looking to take their training further. These classes focus on techniques which are an extension of the Fundamentals Classes, and are more aimed at controlling and submitting skilled opponents. These classes train at a faster pace with a more competitive approach. Competition is optional and for those wanting to test themselves.

Requirement for these classes:
- PPE: Gi & belt (Winter), rashguard and shorts (Summer), plus mouth guard.

 

Yoga - All Levels

Sat: 07:30 - 08:30

With a mix of Hatha, Yin and Flow, you will get a great look into the movements of yoga.

The hardest part of yoga is to get on the mat. Once present, yoga is the best tool to help you change your mind about your body.

These classes are suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

Requirements for these classes:
- Yoga mat (mats available to start with).
