Pendulum Squat
What is it?
The Pendulum Squat is a compound lower body exercise that provides a guided squatting movement to build strength and muscle through the legs. The unique swinging motion of the machine helps maintain a natural squat path while providing support and stability, allowing you to train your lower body with controlled, deep repetitions.
Primary Muscles Worked
Quadriceps
Glutes
Hamstrings
Calves
How to Use
Position your shoulders comfortably under the pads and place your feet shoulder-width apart on the platform. Release the safety handles and begin the movement by bending your knees and hips to lower yourself into a squat. Descend to a comfortable depth while keeping your back supported, then drive through your feet to return to the starting position, stopping just short of locking your knees before repeating.
Coaching Tips
Keep your feet flat and maintain even pressure through your whole foot.
Keep your knees tracking in line with your toes throughout the movement.
Control the descent and avoid dropping quickly into the bottom position.
Focus on driving through your legs and squeezing your glutes as you stand.
