Seated Chest Press
What is it?
The Seated Chest Press is a compound upper body exercise designed to build strength and muscle through the chest, shoulders, and arms. The machine provides a stable and controlled pressing movement, while the independent handles allow you to perform the exercise with both arms or one arm at a time to help improve muscular balance.
Primary Muscles Worked
Chest (Pectorals)
Triceps
Front Deltoids (Front Shoulders)
How to Use
Adjust the seat height so the handles are positioned comfortably around mid-chest level. Sit with your back firmly against the pad and grip the handles. Press the handles forward until your arms are almost fully extended, stopping just short of locking your elbows. Slowly return the handles towards your chest under control before repeating.
For single-arm presses, grip one handle and perform the same pressing movement with one arm at a time. Keep your back supported and core engaged to prevent your body from twisting during the movement.
Coaching Tips
Keep your back firmly supported against the pad throughout the movement.
Keep your shoulders down and avoid shrugging as you press.
Press smoothly and avoid using momentum to move the weight.
For single-arm presses, keep your core engaged and avoid rotating your torso.
Focus on squeezing your chest as you press the handles forward.
Keep a slight bend in your elbows at the end of each repetition.
