Shoulder & Chest Press Machine

What is it?
The Lateral Raise Machine is an isolation exercise designed to strengthen and develop the shoulder muscles, with a primary focus on the side deltoids. The machine provides a controlled movement path, helping you maintain proper form and keep constant tension on the shoulders throughout each repetition.

Primary Muscles Worked

  • Side Deltoids (Lateral Shoulders)

  • Front Deltoids (Anterior Shoulders)

  • Trapezius (Upper Back) (Secondary)

How to Use
Adjust the seat height so your shoulders are aligned with the machine’s pivot point and position your arms comfortably against the pads. Sit upright with your back supported and raise your arms out to the sides until they are approximately level with your shoulders. Slowly lower your arms back down under control before repeating.

Coaching Tips

  • Keep your shoulders down and avoid shrugging during the movement.

  • Lead with your elbows rather than your hands.

  • Use a controlled tempo and avoid swinging the weight.

  • Stop when your arms reach shoulder height to maintain tension on the delts.

  • Keep your chest up and maintain good posture throughout the exercise.
